TP Link’s Archer C20 V4 is a Dual Band Router. It supports 802.11ac standard – the next generation of Wi-Fi. It can provide simultaneous 2.4GHz 300Mbps and 5GHz 433Mbps connections for 733Mbps of total available bandwidth. C20’s 2 external antennas provide stable Omnidirectional signal and superior wireless coverage. With its USB port, you can share a printer locally and files & media with networked devices or remotely via FTP server.
The firmware update of Archer C20 V4 is available and you can update it easily for enhancing your performance as well as fix any bug. Before proceeding further, please make sure your device is Version 4 of this series. For identifying, visit TP-Link’s web management page. You can go to below link(s) to access TP-Link’s web management page.

Go to either of the links using your internet browser. Log in your account by typing the default username as “admin” and password as “admin.” It will work if you did not change these information before. After logging in, below page will appear and you will find your device’s version.
Also, before downloading firmware update, you need to know which firmware version and regional version you are using currently. For confirming the firmware version, you can use the same links mentioned before. Go to that link and select System tools from left below corner. Then you will find “Firmware Upgrade” section. Select this and you will find below page.
Please be noted that these 6 digits number actually reflects the date of firmware version which can help you to understand if it is older than your current version or not. For example, here the 6-digit number is 170222 which means it is from 22nd February of 2017. It means this serial has the following sequence- year, month and day.
Along with this, the regional version also needs to be checked from the label on the back side of your device. For instance, you will find similar label like the below image.

Now follow the below steps to complete upgrade:
- After downloading the “.zip” file, extract the firmware file
- Go to TP-Link’s web management page and select System Tools and then select Firmware Upgrade
- Click on Choose file option and open the downloaded firmware file
- Click the Upgrade The device will reboot automatically after the upgrade has been finished
- Click Status, check if the router’s firmware has been upgraded
- Some firmware updates will restore your router to factory settings. If this is the case run the Quick Setup Wizard to re-configure your Archer C20
