At first, download “iVMS-4200 AC” from Hikvision website and install in the computer from which you want to control the access control device. Follow the given steps to complete the process:

Start the process by double clicking the software to open it. When the software runs for the first time, a super user name and password needs to be created. And then, the software needs to be run by answering three questions by the software.

(Note: By using this user name and password, you can login to the software afterwards. These questions’ answers will help to reset the password if you forget it.)

A window will appear after logging into the software.

Now, click the device management option and activate the device by following the numbers in from below picture.

Follow the given picture’s step numbers to add the device with software.

Please keep in mind that for doing so, the IP series of your device needs to be matched with your local network IP series. If not, you can follow the steps from given picture to match your network IP series with device IP series.


Person Add: You can add user by following these steps




Then add user ID, user name, gender, email, telephone number, effective period and fingerprint for adding person or user.

If the number of users are more than one, you can follow these steps to add multiple users




Access Group Setup:
Please keep in mind that for setting up Access Group, if you want to monitor devices of multiple locations or multiple devices of same organizations from central, you have to create a group. Follow the given steps from the picture:




By monitoring,  generally it is presumed as real time status monitoring. For example, when a user is entering and going outside of office or when students are coming to school and going out.


Attendance Setting:
In attendance menu, we can setup general rule, over time, attendance check point, holiday, leave type, third party database and advance function.
(note: Before setting up time table and shift, general rule needs to be set up first.)


Timetable Setup: Follow the given steps:
Step-1: Time and Attendance Wizard > Timetable > + Add > Name > Start-Work Time > Valid Check-in Time > End-Work Time > Valid Check-Out Time > Late Allowable > Early Leave Allowable. > Save.



Shift Setup: Follow the given steps:
Step-1: Time and Attendance Wizard > Shift > +Add > Shift Name > Select the Shift > Then click on the Graph > Save.
(Note: You can add multiple shifts)



Shift Schedule Setup: Follow the given steps:

Time and Attendance Wizard
> Shift Schedule > Select the Person > then Person Schedule > Click on Dropdown Menu and select the Shift > then set Expiry Date > and click on Save



Attendance Handling Setup: If any user is outside, you can correct the attendance with the help of attendance handling option.



Report Generate: Follow the given steps:
Before generating report, please keep in mind that calculating timetable is essential for report generation.

Step-1: Time and Attendance Wizard > Report > Calculation > then select Start time, End time and Department > then click on Calculate > after calculation you can generate the report following many reporting format.




Step-2: Report > Select report format (Like Daily, Monthly, Monthly Overview, Access Record etc.) > Then select Person > Start Time and End Time > then click on Report button and get the report.


Third-Party Database: As Hikvision Access Control Device support Microsoft SQL server, it can be only integrated with MSSQL server. To integrate it, please follow the given steps:


E-Home Setup: E-Home Hikvision is a protocol which can centralize Hikvision Access Control devices and monitor without public IP. But, it is necessary that a server computer and public IP should be in that place where you will monitor access control devices. And, when you setup the devices in multiple branch locations, configure the E-Home protocol using the public IP of the server. To configure the E-Home protocol in device, follow the below steps:
